New NAMM shit

Carvin has a V3 mini that kicks some serious ass. Same pre, 50,22,7W output, fx loop, 3 channels, reverb. Pretty sweet....On my to-buy list for sure.

I didn't see the 5150 mini, and I even swung by the Peavey booth... ugh.

Holy shit the 5153 mini might actually be a reasonable price over here!

5153 US = $2000
5153 UK = £1300
Converting $ to £ directly gets you about £1250, so basically we're getting it almost at the same price as you guys. If this works out for the mini and it's at the price quoted then:

5153 mini US = $1000
5153 mini UK = £700?

A Peavey 6505 is £1000 here so a 5153 mini for less would be SICK!

this is the new Spector Alex Webster Signature Bass afaik.
Liking the color sheme, the splatter isn't my style, but it's ok, not that extreme.

I'd never be GASsing for a compromise

+1
And you have also to think a little more with a "marketing" mind.
I mean, why they would sell a little amp that sounds like his big brother, at half the price? Are they stupid or something? If it sounds the same they will not sell a big 5153 anymore...so I'm a little skeptical.

Well do remember that it's a shared eq between the two distortion channels and there's only one presence control compared to the 3 on the original.

You're right that it probably wont come out as cheap as I'm hoping, but even if it can just come in under the £1000 price of a 6505 I reckon they're onto a winner.
