New Necrorgasm Track (Death Metal)

Sounds pretty decent, but its not my favourite, tbh. Saying something about the guitars - they sound a bit squashed and muddy... give them more edge or try looking into the mids.
The thole thing lacks "glue", but hey... well done in general :)

btw. that crash on the left side is quite annoying :Spin:

Thanks szymon, I'll look into the guitars again, they translated fine on the Mackies, the KRKs and 2 regular systems but it's always worth checking again.
Just to stay on the safe side, what did you compare it with ?

Well.. its not like they need big changes. There's something odd in that tone, which i don't really like, and i think it's more personal taste than some urgent, unnecesary changes :)
Maybe it will sound different with vocals ;)
These are miced cab or head/sim + impulses?

If i got you correctly, i checked it on cans (my room sucks, and i work mostly on headphones :) ) and hifi system.

It's a Marshall V100 (1st Valvestate) going through Recabinet 3 + Eq.
Personal taste is always a strong factor, I know what you mean.

Thanks a lot for the input man, I appreciate it!

It sounds pretty good man. I would throw a bit of compression on your master bus before your limiter to "glue" it together, like szymon mentioned. Nothing crazy, maybe 2:1 ratio, fairly fast attack, fast release. Check out this thread, it helped me a lot!

There are also some pick scrape noises i'm hearing in one of the riffs that are kind of annoying. You may want to throw a parametric EQ on the guitar tracks (or bus) with a high q setting and sweep around a bit until you find where that's happening, then pull that frequency down. I usually find boosting the EQ band while sweeping around is an easier way to find the problem spot, then once you've found where it's most annoying stop there then drop it back down again.

Hope that helps!

It's pretty sweet man, lot of good headbanging riffs. The tone is actually pretty solid in terms of professional sound, It feels a little choked to me - just slightly and this is really personal preference. The fills in the beginning just feel they should have a bit more shimmer to them, I envision a sound similar to Muhammad Suicmez from Necrophagist when I hear it.

I am listening on a good pair of studio headphones, and I'd say I'd like to hear just a little more from the kick. Other than that man, this would sound excellent with vocals.

Guys, thanks a lot for taking the time to listen and respond.

Mindcycle, I will review the mix buss compression, I too feel there's sth not quite right there... maybe it's got a bit more dynamics- or a bit more pumping than it should. Thanks for pointing that out, I will look into it.

The Uncreator, glad you liked it. I will re-reamp the guitar tracks as soon as I
get my new preamp and converters - I'm a bit stuck in that department at the moment as my current ones died.

Thanks again,
Thanos
