I think it has already been said in this thread, a 5150 and Engl SE. At least, it was tracked with these amps...most likely through a Mesa cab or Engl cab.

It would be safe to say Loomis tracked it with his signature guitar...therefore being a big ash super strat with 707s.

As I already said, in my opinion the last album with some very emotional solos is DHIADW. After that album there were awesome solos of course but more in the "guitar hero" style.
On that album the solos fit the mood of the songs very well, they are never "over the top". In the last albums I noticed lot of awesome solos but more focused on speed and technique.
So I'm with Kaomao, because he didn't say Jeff is a shitty guitar player now
