Yes I know they've been "nu" for a long time now but the new song only confirms it even more. The production also seems very unpolished probably on purpose. They want to be Korn so badly lol.

I honestly don't know why I kept my hopes up. This is awful, but consider the fact that I don't think they released anything decent since Reroute to Remain (other than a few songs on Come Clarity). Also, they have enough money by now. I'm sure they could've afforded a better production.

A few? That whole album is very good. And so is the majority of A Sense of Purpose. Sounds of a Playground Fading is crap, though.
This new track is ok I guess. Fairly generic. I guess, in the end, Soilwork won the fight featured in that pair of videos they did way back, eh?
Also what's up with the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark styled artwork?

I'm of the opinion that everything they've done since Clayman has been 31 flavors of awful. That said, I can see this song being a hit for them. It's got a good groove and a catchy chorus.

Never saw those videos, but in terms of quality music, Soilwork definitely won. Soilwork's last release was excellent.

One of the most painful shows I ever experienced (Which I assume many of you went to as well) was the In Flames / Soilwork / Chamaira / Unearth tour. Total "bro fest" crowd. Frat style "moshing" that turned into a lot of fights. I don't think half the people in the crowd even knew what band they were even there to see...........
I actually liked a lot of Reroute to Remain and I recall liking some of Soundtrack. That was the last one of theirs I purchased.

Soilwork has become the better studio band... not even close. Speed is just light years better than Anders. However, in their hey day, In Flames was one of greatest live bands I've ever seen. Saw them twice on Clayman and once on Reroute and they were some of the best shows I've ever seen.

I saw them for the Come Clarity tour and they ruled the place. Audience interaction, jokes, super tight playing and sound. It was a seriously great show.
I've seen Soilwork twice, and their PPUSA show was close to the HoB In Flames show, but not quite. They weren't quite the audience players that In Flames were. But in studio there's just no comparison anymore.

The first time I saw In Flames was during the Clayman era when they toured with Iced Earth and Jag Panzer.
They were on fire. It was like an old school thrash performance with synchronized head banging
It was before Anders dressed like Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day.
In Flames played Milwaukee Metalfest in 1999.
I was there, but I can't honestly recall if I saw them or not.

Seriously, it's so similar to the new Korn album that it hurts. I used to be a HUGE In Flames fan, too (and I even enjoy the first two Korn albums), but ever since "Reroute to Remain" came out they've been a poor man's Korn, and new Korn is pretty damn shabby to begin with.

While more modern sounding I liked Reroute and Soundtrack..been a steady slide into blah since
(Though ,on Sense of Purpose, their blatant attempt of writing a Sigur Ros
Song(kinda trendy to try this middle to late last decade)with a Chosen Pessemist might be the best attempt to sound like that band from Iceland and is beautiful
