New Porcupine tree- In Absentia, is magical!!

I admit..i've been infected, (again ) to listen to this band!!
But, since i have a plate in front of my head, i had to learn it the hard way, i guess and no, i wasn't forced this time!
Just read throught this, it's wonderfull!!

very strange...., I am currently talking about Porcupine Tree elsewhere, and am listening to Lightbulb Sun.
which is my favorite of theirs.

on In Absentia.. trains is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

I can't believe either why i went so depressed listening to Porcupine Tree, before...it just didn't hit the right place, let's put it that way.
Let's just say i opened up, think that fits the situation best.

personal opinion :
their "Signify" album is both the one with the most "heavy" guitars , and the best.
it has all porcupine tree elements ² : complex moments, psychedelic guitar melodies, mad keys , progressive songs, and generaly it is their monument.
style? : pink floyd meet some eloy without the heavy riffing, being more energetic and emotional.

Yes, Porcupine Tree is amazing. And if I was more motivated right now, I'd write an essay on why they're one of the best bands today.

Signify, Lightbulb Sun and Recordings are my favorites. In Absentia is great, but I dont like the new PT direction as much as their older stuff. Its still fantastic, but I dont like the new metal influence. I say keep metal out of Porucpine Tree!

yeah Wilson has been busy talking about how his production of Opeth has influenced him to move into a more metal direction, but to me the magic of PT has always been the melody and atmosphere the band gives the tunes.
