As far as Per goes, my favourites are the solos on Scar Symmetry's first album and also the ones he did for the power metal side project that Storyteller posted here a few years ago (how I actually found out about him). The solos on SS' later albums feel a lot more disconnected and technical for the sake of it. The first album had the perfect blend of technicality and melody.

Scar Symmetry... meh.. Saw them live last saturday (we played on 2nd stage just before them) and they were a little bit all over the place. Especially the drummer, talk about popcorn! But to be honest, I haven't really given them a chance, but listening to these clips and seeing them live... meh.

edit: Just to be brutally honest, I sucked at our gig that night!

Back on topic. I'm just not digging the new melodic vocalist either, but I will give the album a chance and always support them, I'm sure the album will have some great qualities, since this song does.

I'm also excited about Christian's new band, Solution .45:

Shit!! Now that shit rules!! His voice is in another league... he tears both of them apart literally.. You can hear the ezdrummer kit there for sure, but since it's still a demo, shit it sounds fucking awesome!!

Every new song I hear is getting me more and more excited about this new Scar Symmetry. No it's not the same w/out Christian... but if I listen to it and try not to compare it to previous SS albums, this is pretty good stuff!

Holy fuck This is awesome. For me this and the the upcoming album of Devin Townsend will be the most antecipated albuns of the year.
