New Soilwork song

the video is retarded, but the song is growing on me.

Yeah I'm starting to like the song too. Speed's vocals are really top notch and the chorus is actually excellent. Really the only thing I don't like is the verses, although I do like the Jim Morrison style crooning that Speed pulls off there, I just don't like the guitars, bass, drums, or lack of keyboards there so much.

In general I wish this song was a bit more "lush" sounding, more keys and harmonies and stuff, but it's got just enough of that to keep me interested in the album. No matter what I will support them on this tour and buy the disc! :headbang::worship:

I actually liked the song the first time I heard it. They're certainly gone towards a more mellow pop metal sound on this song, but I hope the whole album isn't like this. The production is ok, but the guitar sound is the biggest problem for me. They just seem to get into the way of everything else and the whole picture becomes messy. The sound is too boxy & nasal and there are some really annoying "ringing" frequencies there in the mids that poke out of the mix.

Interesting. I think this is by far the best Soilwork song I have heard so far (have to admit I don't like anything I heard from them at all) ...

Kazrog: it's funny, I like the verses almost more than the chorus!

Wow, that´s one of the silliest storylines for a music video I´ve ever seen! :puke:
I waited........and waited........and waited......for the big end :)lol:) when the band plays together at the top of the mountain with all the endorsed heads and cabinets........but what happened?! NOTHING!

BULLSHIT!

oh well, the song?! hmmmmmm.......sounds like Soilwork to me..:heh:

Hahahaha, seriously, seeing a chick schlep around a bunch of heads and cabs...the stuff of dreams! ("woman, carry my gear!")

Lol, is that a Patric Ullaeus video? The background where they play kinda looks like that.
The part where they change to the Gibson guitars is the most ridiculous one! :D As if he was using P90s on that song lol...

Im biased, as most know... but I think the song is fine.. I like it, dont love it...

The video, however, is fucking terrible. Worst I've seen since Lacuna Coil's FIRST vid for Heaven's a Lie... ugh.

But, last thing Speed told me about the album was that it was heavy...

I havent been privy to any pre release to confirm or deny, but, Ill take his word for what it is... and assume this to be the kind of wanker "hit" single.

We'll see?

And going back to ESP was a surprise, but, Im a big ESP and Gibson spaz myself, so... there's that.

It's a good chorus, and a decent solo. Overall it's not bad by any stretch - but it's nowhere near songs like "As We Speak"

Agreed, "As We Speak" is probably my favorite Soilwork song of all. This new "Exile" song is alright, but I hope that the rest of the album is more impressive. I don't even care about whether or not they fulfill a certain degree of thrash or metal or tempo or whatever, I just want it to be full of good songs with good riffs that were well thought out! :kickass:
