New Song

Yay, just heard the new song!
But honestly, I feel a bit disappointed. What's that power metal feel in it? The song feels somehow just so-so aggressive, and there's really not too much to get a grip on. It remind me of cry of the black birds, but with less balls.

Anyway, last album was great, and I have no doubt why this shouldn't be as good, or even better, album. Besides, there isn't a single bad album from the folks yet. And who knows, maybe I get into this song after further listening, or maybe this blends with the whole album well? Just can't wait! :kickass:

EDIT: okay, after some more listening, it indeed isn't too bad song, heh! But I still keep my head that there's something missing...

I agree with you that the band has not released a bad album. I think Twilight of the Thunder God will top With Oden on our Side. Can't wait for the video!!!

Check out the third comment about the band:

You mean this?

"nothing more nothing less....think this is their second last album then no one needs them any more cause people get tired of hearing the same song again and again...they´re not acdc"

I hate people that are ignorant and say that every Amon Amarth song sounds the same. I can definitely say that my desire to hear Amon Amarth will never fade though.

That would be the third comment. I will never stop listening to Amon Amarth, and I will never find them boring. We should hunt him/her down:heh:

omg the song is just fucking brilliant!!111 if this song has been chosen to represent the whole album i'll just go fucking nuts till sept 19th... omg omg i need this new album so badly :waah:

ALL HAIL AMON!!11 :notworthy

In a word, AWESOME.

In two, Fucking Brilliant.

I know that it's early days and only one song, but grats to the band members for this one, cannot wait to get the whole album :notworthy

If Odin is the Protector of mankind then your destiny is coming Sept 1st :rock:

It's 1:30am, how the fuck am I to sleep now :kickass:

I think the new song sounds quite different actually!
(Don't know yet if that's good or bad).

Just for the record: I still think that "Versus the world" is the best AA-album. WOOOS blew me away at first, but I'm not as drawn to it ... sometimes I even "dislike" it and rather listen to one of the othe albums again.
Somebody said he feels like the new song is missing something ... maybe it's Johan's voice, it seems to be altered electronically ... something I don't like so much about WOOOS as well.
And of course the song has a different feel to it because of Roope Latvala. Which is why I usually don't like the idea of guest-musicians. It doesn't sound bad, it just sounds different ... which may be bad if you are looking for that specific sound of the band. In this case it's quite ok I guess.
(It's just that I started to hate Apocalyptica after they started to sound like anything BUT Apocalyptica because of all those guest-artists ... and I don't want to see this happening to my favourite band as well, which is why I'm such a sceptic I guess)

Well they probably aren't using the same mics as they have before on previous albums, and they might be recording in a different place which would make Johan's voice sound different.

And I actually like Apocalyptica for having so many guest artists.

To be entirely honest I'm not too thrilled with this song so far. They don't really sound like their own crushing selves. The smash to the balls seems to be missing from the track and like someone else said, it's got a weird powermetal feel to it.

also what the fuck Amon Amarth you guys don't need a fucking breakdown in a song.

I know exactly what you mean here. WOOOS is an awesome awesome album and I could easily listen to each song over and over. Infact I did for quite a long time after it first came out but now I find myself avoiding it alot of the time for some reason. It's probably my least played album. Maybe the fact that Once Sent is my favourite album overall explains some things.

I totally agree with you on that one...Really the only part of the song I do not like.
But the rest of the song is fucking good. Refrain is soooo catchy. I just like catchy songs that are pretty easy to get into. Has always been like that and I guess that's not gonna change too soon.

@AA: The little guitar part before Roope's Solo sounds a bit weird to me...almost like a Keyboard (?!). Is this really a guitar?

This is owning.
This whole ordeal has been painful...like I was engaged to Alyson Hannigan and she was naked and asking me to fuck her and I said no, we should wait till we're married, but now she gave me a handjob and I feel better.
