Hey guys, I uploaded a new Tiny Terror test to my soundclick. Same chain as before (info can be found here), though this time I had the amp on 15 watt mode (to try to get as much headroom out of the EL84's as possible), the gain at 3:00, and the tone at 12:30. Also, this one includes a 4.3 db cut at 750 Hz with a fairly low (wide) Q. Comments appreciated!

And now that I'm comparing it to my eq'ed first one, I hope you guys will agree this one is WAY clearer in the mids, and that was because I was less cautious of the dustcap with mic positioning this time, and I think it shows!

Definately sounds a lot better. It kinda sounds like there's a lot of gain though...that MAY just be my speaks, but I think overall the tone is much clearer. The lead tone is very nice. Thick and juicy on some Prime Rib status.

AND, for those who were curious, here's a link to a ZIP file with the same riff with and without a TS, and I think you'll agree that HOLY SHIT does this amp need it! I must admit it adds a slighty metallic tone, but that's a very worthy tradeoff considering the awful flub of the non-TS'ed version! :ill:

Thanks dude! The lead is actually the exact same settings, mic position, and eq, so the amp definitely lends itself to lead stuff I guess! Part of the gain perception I think is the bite in the presence that this amp naturally has, and part of it was me appeasing all the whiners for moar gain in the last thread ;)

Well, how much post game shit are you repping after the fact? Cause if it's little, then this amp has retarded potential, cause it sounds really good now, just with some tweaks it would be pretty much my favorite sound. Yeah that might just be cause these speakers are so shitty that I THINK it's gain. Regardless.... I digggz.:Smokin:

All that's going on in the DAW domain is the cut at 750 I mentioned above, otherwise this is exactly what came into the interface! Glad you like it man, I agree it's gotta lot of potential and I can't wait to mess with it more!

Now that's the stuff right there! Great sounding, Marcus! Probably the best tone I've heard from you yet. I'm really curious how that would sound with a bass in the mix as well. Really good, I imagine. I think you're really close to that sound you've been chasing.

Moar gain for teh br00talz!!!!

In all seriousness though it's a fantastic tone. I'd love to hear you totally shred up a gain-ridden solo on that set up.

Of course you would ;) I probably will too, though, honestly - in the other thread tons of people were crying for more, so I gave it a try this time

And Joe, thanks a ton man!

And everyone else who posted in the previous thread, surely you all are curious to see if this amp (and I) could do any better?

Great clips, Marcus!

Can you upload them (Test 2 and Test (w/eq) somewhere that allows download? I really want to save them in my amps clip collection (yes, I am an amps clip nerd).

Great meaty sound. :)

Sounds really meaty, not what I would have expected the TT to sound like at all! BTW, is that a Funeral for a Friend riff? From the first album. I recognise it anyway, can't put my finger on it.

EDIT: Also, how loud did you have to crank it before getting a believable recorded tone?

That does sound really cool. I am suprised because I was in a band with a dude that had a bigger model from orange amps and it sounded like poop. Put he might have just had it dialed in like a retard.

Any way cool tone.

HAhahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, you have no idea how much I'm loving the irony of this dude - look at your own freakin' avatar, and then tell me what song I'm playing yourself! :heh: And I couldn't really crank it that loud on account of neighbors, but it was at a decent volume - really, the big cause for the difference from the last one is the mic position.

awesome tone from that amp...wow, so funny you are in Putnam County, I'm in Orange.

Badass dude, how old are you? Cuz I actually know a bunch of people from Orange (well, Monroe, specifically) in the 20-22 range.

And Hamsterdam, I deleted the clips on my comp. already, but you can download 'em from my soundclick page (www.soundclick.com/marcusmusic). I'm flattered to be worthy of your clip collection! :)

Thanks so much for the comments guys, there is NO ONE whose opinion matters more to me on these things that you guys', so it means a lot! :kickass:
