Not completely true.
I think there is some good talent.
I just think that the local scene operates in cliques, and isn't as unified as it could be unfortunately.

I thought since I saw another poster do the same that I would introduce myself. My name is Ray and I stumbled on this forum by accident. I had heard of ProgPower in years past and now am very excited to hear next years lineup. I am new to the midwest, having moved from Idaho 1 year ago. Now that I have discovered a store in Chicago called Metal Haven my metal taste buds are being more quenched. Obviously by my Avatar and name I am a huge Helloween fan (power metal in general). So I hope to be on this board quite often. Cheers!

Welcome but just so you know, next years lineup hasn't been announced yet. Will be at the end of this year's fest. Just so there's less confusion (I don't dare hope for NO confusion)

I seriously wasn't trying to be snooty or anything.
I will be very happy to give my opinion of the Chicago local scene, both the positives and negatives. I think my comments would hold true for most local music scenes.
