New Truth Monitors....

But think of how good it would sound if he actually had some WYHIWYG monitors.

edit: after checking the link, they looked a whole lot better (ribbon tweeters, kevlar woofers) than the old one's that sounds like a carpet. But still.... Behringer...

I almost chimed in with the same thing as above...

When your a great engineer you can make anything work. I bet Andy could mix something insane on truths and we could be using some sweet monitors and our mix would still not touch his!

Most of us anyways i know there is some good mixer/engineers but us rookies i should say instead of we:kickass:

i use truths all day long, and i know how my stuff will translate from truths to the real world later on.

the most important thing about monitors is your relationship with them. knowing how sounds and sound behavior on them, will translate to smaller speakers, bigger speakers, eq's, car stereo's, and anything else that will be used to listen to your mix and mastering.

I ask to Tue where he use his monitors (Jbl, Yamaha hs50, Behringer).
He said me he use all his monitors for everything, so he can listen with different perspective.

My monitors, by definition, are pretty pish but the thing is, like Joey said...

I listen to ALL my music on them. I may not be the best ME but i know how to make mixes using these monitors that translate cause a lot of the time i'm cranking out professionally done Cds through them...

I wouldn't spent a hell of a lot more on new monitors as i'd

A- have to relearn them
B - My room sucks anyway, haha
C- I like how my ones sound!

Shit, bob mixes on headphones! hahah

Ok but...how can I find a good pair of monitor? How can I understand if a monitor translate very well or if it adds some artifact? Now I have some shitty 2+1 creative, time ago it sounds good to me but I've understood that it's a shit because when I mix through these speakers I ear frequencies that I can't ear in other system.
Now I want to change and buy a good pair of monitors, but how can I do the right choice?

Let your budget decide, then borrow some more money and buy the pair you almost can't afford.

If there's different monitors with the same or similar price, bring a cd you know by heart and listen to it, then choose the one that you think sounds the best. It's a lot easier to make a sound when you don't have to compensate.

Ok...sometime speakers seem to sound very good, but only because there are artifacts.
So it's difficult to value speakers, if you don't know how it sounds really :\
