Hey guys,

Just wanting to notify you of a new plug-in I've considered switching to for all workhorse applications. It seems Dave has put together something fairly special here. It appears to combine the usability of the Sonnox EQ (my current go-to) with a variety of different processing modes that appear put it well beyond any singular EQ plug-in on the market today.

Give it a shot. See what you think.

Really nice to use, looks awesome but.. I honestly can't hear a difference between it and the default EQ, even on different modes. Even boosting the highend a ton, there's really not much difference to my ears.

All digital EQ's are the same. But yeah, Dave's is very nice to use because it presents the information in a legible way. It isn't cluttered, and easy to use.

I've read the article, and it does make perfect sense... but somehow when boosting 8K on OH's with ReaEQ i did get some phasyness and it didn't sound too good, boosting 8K with the X-EQ brought up some nice sparkle in the OH's and sounded really nice. Go figure.. :err:

Do you have any comparison files?

It's probably the differences in the shape of the curves (the freq/Q/gain was the same though), but x-eq sounds more interesting to me right from the start.

I'm using headphones and they both sound like they have some phasing issues, like the center of the stereoimage is empty. and it's really disturbing.

edit: when I filled the phase on the left channel it sounded correct. Check the phase on your recording.

All digital EQ's are the same.

I believe that's the case for the minimum phase designs. Dave has a number of different algorithms included here for you to use, which is nifty.

It scales all the way from straight digital, to a seemingly supersampled one that retains better highs, then to the CPU intensive 'analog phase', 'minimum phase' and 'linear phase'.

Bob Katz has talked about the differences between different linear phase designs in the past, and those do not all sound the same.

eQuality is a great plug. I just like how it's laid out. I'm still using the Sonalksis EQ a lot for god's sake!
