No music, just some DVDs!! Just got it delivered then, I bought them from www.dvdpacific.com in the US.

Terror Firmer (2-disc Unrated edition)
Over the top Troma movie, loaded with extras!! And the film ends with a public service announcement about hermaphrodites by Trey Parker & Lemmy!

Psycho Cop Returns
Comedy-horror about a psychotic cop who kills people who break rules! In this one he targets geeky office workers who hold an after work party with strippers haha.

City of the Living Dead
Lucio Fulci movie he made after "Zombie" (which I watched last nite actually). Haven't seen this but apparently it has a great head drilling scene!

Don't Torture A Duckling
An early '70s Fulci horror film, haven't seen this either but apparently it's a giallo mystery and I love those!

Strip Nude For Your Killer
Another '70s Italian giallo film, this is meant to be the sleaziest of the bunch from that era so I'm looking forward to it!

House on the Edge of the Park
Rape-revenge film from the director of Cannibal Holocaust and starring the main guy from Last House On The Left (which this is an Italian rip-off of apparently!)

Cannibal Holocaust (2-disc 25th anniversary edition!)
WOW the packaging on this is AMAZING!!!! 2 discs (loaded with extras) that look like old film reels and labelled "Reel 1" and "Reel 2", in a fold out DVD case that's like a hard-cover book (same material) and opens up to a gatefold screenshot of the infamous impaling scene with the girl on a pole. This DVD case has the explicit artwork (which includes the girl on the pole too) but weren't allowed to use, and is inside another cardboard slip case with different artwork and has a booklet in it that folds out to the original Italian movie poster!!! UNREAL! Brian you should pick this up! A must for any horror collection! The movie is getting a local release soon as well, but it had to be cut here to get passed with a rating (and the packaging prob won't be as cool anyway!), so I'd avoid that one and get this uncut release from the US! The packaging alone was worth $22!

 Now I'm off to Conan's place for a movie night! He just bought Erotic Nights of the Living Dead by the smuttiest director ever Joe D'Amato so I think we'll have to throw that into the movie night as well!

!!!

Absolutely killer there. I haven't seen Cannibal Holocaust yet, but it's one of those movies that you hear about and know about that you 'will see one day'.

Troma movies are unreal. I don't think it's possible for them to make a bad one!

And tell Connie to finally get the Internet back dammit.

(P.S Erotic Nights of the Living Dead? Classy!)

Are you hiring new horror or old horror Blitz? Coz there's barely been a good horror film made since the '80s in my opinion, and 90% of the really good ones were made in the '70s!

Although "The Devil's Rejects" was a GREAT horror film this year... Probably the best horror I've seen made in the last 10 years.

I watched Strip Nude For Your Killer tonight, not one of the best giallos (my fave genre of horror films!) but still very cool, like all the giallos the cinematography is STUNNING, every shot looks like a painting, and they packed more nudity into this than another other slasher-mystery I've seen too which was a bonus haha.

I think Cannibal Holocaust is possibly the most horrific film ever made... Therefore it really is a horror masterpiece. It's the kind of film you could NOT get away with making these days (well, alot of Italian 70s horror is like that I guess, but this one is balls to the wall). And anybody who thought The Blair Witch Project was an original idea needs to see it too because it's a complete rip-off of Cannibal Holocaust except nowhere near as good. Cannibal Holocaust, like Blair Witch, is supposed to be the "found footage" of 4 film makers who went out to the jungle to make a documentary. Unlike Blair Witch though, stuff actually happens in the movie! It's so loaded with extreme violence and is so effective because it looks so realistic (including the gore) as if it really is documentary footage. When the film was first released in Italy, the producer & director were arrested and the film was siezed! So if you want a horror film that isn't cheesy, looks super-realistic and is loaded with violence that will make your jaw drop - Cannibal Holocaust is the movie.

If you want a fun cheesy comedy-horror, then Psycho Cop Returns is great! Has great one liners such as when he kills a guy and then handcuffs him and goes "You have the right to remain dead. Anything you say or do will be considered strange, because you're dead" hahaha!

Undead was brilliant. Us Aussies rool at Horror! except for Cut!

And that line from Psycho Cop Returns sounds BRILLIANT! Is the movie as good as the Maniac Cop series? Bruce Campbell is KING and the Maniac Cop is a tank.

Um, it's different. Maniac Cop is more a slasher/action kinda thing whereas Psycho Cop Returns is a comedy-horror in the style of Fred Olen Ray's films like Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers. The cop is just a normal psycho guy, not a mutant like in Maniac Cop, and he's hilarious! One liners coming from all directions! It also stars David from Passions as a sleazy married man screwing a girl from work in the copy room!

Undead wasn't bad but I didn't like it that much. I hated the whole alien angle that happened. The Devil's Rejects & Wolf Creek are both excellent and well worth seeing. Two of the best horror films in a long time, it looks like people wanna start making real horror films again in the tradition of the '70s ones (both are very derivative of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Devil's Rejects even has alot of Last House On The Left influence in it!), rather than movies that look more like the "scary episode" of Dawson's Creek.

I thought Land Of The Dead was a HUGE let down by Romero though. Even the Dawn Of The Dead remake was a FAR better film! I prefer Fulci's "Zombie" over Romero's zombie flicks anyway though!

Very true - Land of the Dead was a massive disappointment (although the gore was awesome - loving the fingernails snapping off!). It just had no atmosphere and braindead zombies being able to think and learn? What? That black zombie was smarter than most of the humans in the film.

Dawn of the Dead remake was very cool - even if the zombies somehow learnt how to run.

I want to see TDR and Wolf Creek major. Heard a lot about Wolf Creek in terms of gore, so that should be awesome.

I agree cannibal holocaust is pretty gruesome. No turtles were harmed in the making of the film haha. Im sure thats something they dont have in the credits. Im pretty sure thats in the film, im not getting mixed up am I. Been a while since I have seen it. It is a pretty full on flick.

How about braindead by peter jackson. I love that flick. Going at a horde of zombies with an upturned lawn mower is one of the greatest scenes in a movie ever!

Dawn Of The Dead was great.

The Devil Rejects and Wolf Creek are both on the list. I figured I would wait for DVD for Wolf Creek, but if you think it is THAT good, I might reconsider.

Cannibal Holocaust ey? I might have to try track down those DVDs as well then. How much did it cost you all up?

Cannibal Holocaust was $22 in Australian dollars for a double disc with awesome packaging. Postage from that site is about $1 per disc plus a FedEx fee so its cheaper to combine alot of DVDs at once. I just watched the DVD of it tonight for the first time (I had only seen it on a bad quality bootleg VHS before). The first half is like any other Italian cannibal flick but a little better, but the 2nd half really is very unsettling to watch. First time I can ever remember finding myself kinda holding my breath during scenes of a movie... Whatever review used the words "unflinching realism" is spot on. And another thing that sets it apart is that most of the violence is perpetrated by the American documentary makers against the cannibals with absolutely no regard for them as humans, just to create "a sensational story", so there are really no good guys in the whole film.

Just saw Wolf Creek. Top stuff. Only two or three scenes of real violence, but they're doozies. One of them is quite gorey.

Highly recommended.

"Head on a stick"

I didn't like Saw all that much. I only liked the twist really. It was an excellent film but I just didn't really dig the look or feel of the movie very much and that's always kinda the most important thing for me for some reason, I dunno why.
