News follow-up comments

I'm so upset now, this is such awful news.
News of Erik and Jens being back was great, but Borknagar just won't feel right now without Asgeir.
















Question is, who will be replacing him?
 
Oh my... I can't believe it.

Asgeir' drumming will be hard to replace, it's uncommon to find such technical drummers on black metal... Frost from Satyricon or HH (like his Arcturus's style ov drumming) could be good guys. Maybe Nick Barker could play too - as he did it before - or session guys like Sean Reinert from Cynic or Richard Christy (just my tastes).

Asgeir was the most active Bork member here too... what a pity...Oh damnn, this is totally unexpected... I'll miss him.






But he could comes back right??? like Tyr and Jens...
 
I wouldn't mind Heckhammer if he changed his drum sound completly. But yeah...I'm gonna miss Asgeirs fills. The fills are what makes a drummer great and his were the best.

Well, I certainly hope we will get a drummer that lives in the Oslo-area (most of the band lives in this area), otherwise the prospect of future concerts is pretty much gone....
 
Now this is some unfortunate news. I was happy to see the Emp line-up uniting once more, then we receive this news...pfff.
I guess everyone has a path in life, and Asgeir's now leading away from Borknagar. I can understand that, but I will miss him in the band, whose he had seem to be quite a big part of...
 
Wow.... I thought he was fucking kidding.... :erk: I read it on his myspace "Going to Vegas, quitting Borknagar".... Wow, this is a big surprise. I hope he gets replaced quickly and that it doesn't affect the new album or the prospect of live performances in the future. I just don't understand this, but yeah... I hope this doesn't hurt the band as much as I think it could.

Yeah, this is surprising and Asgeir's drumming will be missed. It was good posting with him on the board here. All of the people you named sound good, I like Frost and Hellhammer's drumming a lot, prefer Frost because of his Tom patterns among other things.
I wonder if Asgeir will still post here since he's no longer a member of Borknagar?
