Hey, I recorded and mixed an ep for my friends band recently, the first time I've recorded anything other than myself messing around, if anyone has the time to listen and maybe comment on it that'd be awesome cheers.

How did you record this ? Some of the instruments sound tinny (like Im listening through a can).

the drums are programmed with ez drummer, used drumagog to replace the kick and snare though, bass is DI, for the guitars I mic'd up the amp. I know what you mean about the tinny sound, I'm pretty sure that comes from the guitars, the cab we used was pretty terrible, this was the most useable sound I could get out of it. Ideally would have used another but time constraints and stuff meant we ended up with this. Cheers for the response.

I find the easiest thing to do is to monitor the guitars through headphones while someone moves the mic around the cab. Once you find the sweet spot, lock it down. But first get the tone you want out of the amp itself, thats the main thing.
