i want to ask how to normalize track audio in nuendo.
normalize process is before/after recording??

i'm new with this term and i need some help.

agreed. Tell us what you want to do and we'll tell you how to get there, but it's kinda hard to help out with such arbitrary questions.

But in case you really want to normalize, this should be either in effects or audio (at least thats where it is in Cubase). And what it does is it raises (or lowers) the overall level of a piece of audio hence amplifying the dirt and noise as well. If it happens it happens after recording, since you need to have something to normalize in the first place.

Look through the forum for tips on recording. If you record properly you will never need normalization.

If a guy wants to get a maximum volume he would clip/compress/limit the peaks and raise everything, not normalize.

i don't compress and i hate clipping, i like to keep it natural. When you do metal your shit is already compressed to fuck. i like to hear some dynamics. Maybe a slight low band compression to tame to plosives but nothing else. just get max volume.

Well "your shit" isn't already compressed to fuck if you haven't done the compression yourself... (unless we're talking about distorted guitars, but that hasn't been specified)

Compression is essential for some instruments, specifically vox and especially bass, IMO - gotta keep 'em consistent (or you can just go on an automation rampage, but that would barely sound any different and be a fucking nightmare, though have fun if you want to! :))

oh and the OP is asking specifically normalizing dry DI tracks before reamping.

tat way you'll maximize the PEAK to 0db....now imagine you're hitting just one note a bit harder on one track...
the result would be that that track would not increased as much in the normalizing process=less RMS than the other track(s).

DON'T NORMALIZE!

but seriosly, these are basics...who spends almost 2000$ on a DAW (Nuendo) without knowing the basics? :D

and why nuendo? doing a lot of video-stuff?
