North American tour 06

Yes! I am getting so sick of the Palladium. Even though they will probably be there too.

So, to correct myself...

whoever is going the Massachusetts date and/or the Rhode Island date, see you there (I am certainly going to both)

No doubt. The Palladium blows. I saw the Mars Volta show at Lupo's back in May. First time I'd been there since it was The Strand. They've done a nice job. Very cool room...good sound. See you there.

Hah, you're from Mississauga too? I thought I'd be the only 'saugan here.

Actually, I was in Toronto the last time they were here. But I moved to Sauga to be closer to Erindale where I go to school. The show will end late I think... too late to get the last Go bus. I might peobably be sleeping at a friends place that night... we'll see.

TWO shows in QC? *swoon*
And they're playing London too?
With Toronto, that's 4 shows in Eastern Canada alone...
:worship:

and it's during my spring break! :D
How sweet it'll be ^^

Although the Palladium is rough, they do get all the good metal acts. See you all there!

P.S.

"And finally, BW&BK sources say that Opeth are planning a few rare, select major market shows in North America that will be dubbed An Evening With Opeth, where the Swedish metal gods will perform extended live sets."

:OMG: :worship:

Whoa...hopefully those sources are correct...

The last tour their shows clocked in at 2 hours so I wonder how long an extended set of theirs would be...3 hours? maybe 4?!?! o_O

(*please please please let Montreal be one of those dates!*)

Holy shit, I hope I get to see one of those.

If it means going to all shows around my area, then so be it (uh oh, fan boy alert)

Gah, becoming so very giddy....so not metal.....haha.

Whatever...I cannot wait to see them again.

Man, this is fucking great to see the tour opening in Raleigh. I live 90 minutes away and there hasn't been anything this caliber in years. Unlikely, probably, but anyone else here going to see them on the 15th?

i might be making a road trip

Wow. I seriously want the Toronto date to be one of those.

London ON confirmed for February 28th, I'm thinking Toronto will be the day after -- depending on if they're taking a break, maybe a couple days after.

If they don't come to the palladium I probably won't be able to go

Why not? Do you need a ride? I bet there's someone who would be willing to pick you up. If I go to RI I'll be coming from NH so you might be on the way...

Man, this sucks. I'm already going to NIN on March 11th and In Flames on Feb 17th, and now there's a chance that Opeth might come to Philly again or Jersey :(

I live in South Massachusetts, near connecticut, and I'd have a ride, but I don't think my ride knows where that arena in RI is.

Awhile back, I was at a show checking out my friend's band. The opening acts were pretty terrible so I ducked outside to chat. A security guard was passing around a joint and musing the metal scene. "These fucking kids today. When Opeth came through here, there were these guys following the band around. They were . . . FUCKING GROUPIES! THE DUDES SWITCH=HIT FOR OPETH, MAN!" So I'm sort of nervous about going to a show when Opeth's playing. I mean gays are cool. My concern is that you're obviously a tightly knit bunch and Metal's notoriously violent. So if someone finds me cute, I might be gang-raped or something.
The whole "oh my God. I can't possibly make that show because I'll never find the venue" message-board mentality has always confused me. You're on the Internet. In addition to services like Mapquest, you have access to a network of millions of people and chances are at least one has been there before. That said, you'd probably have a harder time parking than locating Lupo's. It's a fairly sizable club located on a main drag in a major part of the city.
