Nottingham - Rock City, 27th Nov

Yeh i'm going man, me and my girlfriend, and hopefully a friend and her boyfriend as well, looking forward to it, will be my first time seeing opeth, it's a shame martin lopez isn't fit and well to play, but my swedish friend say's his replacement was nailing all martin's stuff when he saw them play. Was meant to see opeth a few years back at rock city, but my buddy broke his leg, so we didn't make it. So if you see a dude in a big long leather jacket, with a skull t-shirt on, and black hair in a ponytail, that's probably me!

That fucking rocked!

Setlist:

Ghost Of Perdition
When
White Cluster
Closure
Bleak
The Grand Conjuration
Under The Weeping Moon
Baying Of The Hounds
Deliverance

No time for an encore unfortunatley, but I met all the guys out the back. Really nice blokes, and Mikael liked my Edge Of Sanity shirt :)

Do u have to be over 18 to see opeth?
Im going to see them in leeds on tuesday and am getting paranoid that we wont get in because on most of the websites it says "18's and over"
Anybody wanna put my mind at rest?:Spin:

I can't believe they played 'under the weeping moon', hopefully they'll play it on the 30th

nice to see a wee bit different set list, still they have left out a few classics

Fuck me! They better do that setlist in Oxford 3rd December!:headbang:

Wow....:OMG:
I'm going to see Opeth in Glasgow tonight, and if they play THAT setlist... I'll be a happy man. <y friend won't be though, as he only really likes 'mellow' Opeth, which is quite thinly represented there. But still:

Ghost Of Perdition - Very excited, awesome song
When - Oh my god, fucking amazing to see this live
White Cluster - Meh...
Closure - If they play it like they do on Lamentations, then that's gonna be AWESOME!!!
Bleak - My favourite opeth song, 'nuff said
The Grand Conjuration - OK song, should be immense live though
Under The Weeping Moon - I'm not even able to believe they'll play this until I see it for myself. If they do...wow. Shame it's not 'The Twilight Is My Robe', though.
The Baying Of The Hounds - Yes, yes, YES!!!
Deliverance - AWESOME!!!

Just a shame there's no Demon Of The Fall....I was looking forward to that. And Godheads Lament would be better than White Cluster. But on the whole....I'M PRETTY FUCKIN' PSYCHED!!!!!!! :headbang: :headbang:

Wow, what a setlist. I would happily have replaced their previous with this one. Well, at least if they'd include Face of Melinda and Demon of the Fall there too. :)

Actually, I'd replace it anyway. White Cluster, Closure, Bleak, Under the Weeping Moon... amazing.

edit: and GoP too.

Only one problem with the Nottingham gig: The sound was bollocks. I mean, the band played great (no surprises there), but whoever was running the soundboard needs a slap. For the first couple of songs it was all kick drums and bass guitar, and the bass guitar was pretty much drowning everything for the rest of the show. It was a struggle to make out the guitars at all, which is not what you want at an Opeth gig. But the solos sure LOOKED good;)

It's a shame because the band is so careful about their sound. Last time I saw them (in Glasgow) it was crystal clear.

Awesome setlist - I just hope it remains similar to this when I see them in London and Oxford this week.
It'll be great to finally see 'Bleak' (one of my favourites), which hasn't been played all the times i've seen them before.
However i'd much rather have them play 'The Moor' instead of 'White Cluster'; when I read they were playing 'The Moor' in their recent set I was really wishing i'd get to see that here in the UK. Can't have everything I guess. And at least they've finally pulled 'Ghost Of Pedition' out of the bag.

Same. But "meh" at White Cluster!??!? ...you fucking moron.
ChrisEmerson, did they play all of the solo?
