listening to a few tracks off of Brad Paisley's new record (it was originally supposed to be all instrumental, but I think it ended up more like 80% instrumental...I'll know for sure next week when I get it) and it's sounding great so far....killer guitar playing and killer guitar tones.

With this one coming out next week, I'd probably start there...it's called "play". The fact that Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Vince Gill, John Jorgenson, and a few other cool folks are making guest appearances certainly doesn't hurt. His other stuff can be hard to get into...it's got it's fair share of pop-country lyrical cheese. A lot of it is definitely meant to be taken very lightheartedly...but that said, I'm a sucker for catchy pop tunes that don't suck so I can deal with it. The guitar playing is always top-notch though.
