Anyone here ever listen to Edgend? A bit too similar to Symphony X (the vocals are different though) but I like it. Their song Internal Fire is good.

Symphony X - Orion - The Hunter

I revisited some of SX's stuff and started thinking about the time signatures they use, and man, it gave me a newfound respect for a lot of what they wrote...they affect the song so much, but not in a way that ever seems mechanical - you notice it without noticing it. Best rhythm section in a rock band I think I've ever heard. Pull out all the tricks and then some without ever relying on being tricky.
