Show me the thrash in any of those four songs. I don't really care what thirty people say if their opinions are based on seemingly nothing more than lazy bandwagon-jumping. I could find you a hundred people that think Daudi baldrs is dark ambient as well; doesn't mean they aren't blatantly incorrect.

It's maybe not pure thrash, but it is definitely thrash. Exmortus are just so awesome they've invented their own subgenre of thrash. Neoclassical tech thrash.

No matter what we call it, this is balls out METAL in its purest form. I'd go so far as to say it combines the best elements of tech thrash, prog power, neoclassical shred and death. Epic music right there.

They're doing nothing that Helstar and Coroner didn't already do in the late 80s. I like the album but it's mostly neoclassical flash.

Ok, saying they invented it was a bit much. That's not fair to Mekong Delta. I get a little too excited when listening to this album, it's everything I wanted to do musically as a guitarist, done right. I was a metal guitarist for years, then I was a classical guitarist for years... now I'm back into metal, and this brings it all together, perfectly.

Actually, this post is spot on. They pretty much have their own sound. Nobody combines all of those elements like they do.

Minus death metal, but there's no death metal on the new Exmortus anyways.

Sure, that's solid. With a different singer you could easily call that tech thrash too in my opinion. It's those vocals that make it power metally.

It's good, but I like Exmortus' singer better, and they have more interplay between the two guitars. If you can tell by my username and avatar, I'm a huge fan of Bach. Exmortus rubs that part of my brain that likes Bach when they get counterpoint going between two guitars in Moonlight Sonata and Immortality Made Flesh among others.

Never got into Pantera. VDoP is a poor album.
