I still haven't gotten over this album. It's a little too "retro" to appease the orthodoxy of black metal and it's a little too orthodox to catch on with the first wave only types who worship new Darkthrone.

It's right in that sweet spot for me.

There was like a solid year of college where I listened to Dream Pop and shoegaze exclusively. However, Cocteau Twins can really be seen as a singular great in the scene overall
