Good riffs and a cool sci-fi storyline.

1989 has so many great albums. Was anyone here actually listening to these albums in 1989?
Yes, I definitely was. But considering that Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" had already got me hooked 5 years earlier, that's perhaps not much of a surprise then. I discovered all these albums way back then through reviews in different German metal magazines I had started reading regularly somewhere in 1985. (I still have got all these magazines.)

This might replace Annihilator in my top 10 for 1989, even though it's just a demo-tape. Will have to give it another spin or two, maybe also by headphones, before my final decision.

Worth a listen for Death Angel Fans. Better than the Evil Divide but a step down from The Dream Calls For Blood.

I've only listened to it once. It's not too bad, there is some good heavy guitar work on the album but I do feel the vocals lets the music down at times. But you're right, it's worth a listen.

Blasting this monstrous record in honour of the band recently announcing that their sophomore will be out soon. Some of the sickest void-lurking death metal ever, a thick dose of Barry Thomson's classic galactic riffing style forged into a context that brings to mind bands like Asphyx, Morbid Angel, Benediction etc.
