Deathspell Omega - The Furnaces of Palingenesia
The safest bet to start with them is Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice. It's the first album with Aspa on vocals (and drums, presumibly) and the first one with the style that are known for, thus, it's the most accesible one. Then I would recommend to jump to Paracletus, then to Furnaces. Fas and Kenose might be perceived as their greatest works for many, but those are far more abrasive and spastic.Oh right, I think I've seen it posted in here before. That's a band I need to delve into more.
I'm just impressed you've managed to avoid listening to them. I mean, how. Anyways, I like them but they never quite make it to the elite tier they are said to belong to.Oh right, I think I've seen it posted in here before. That's a band I need to delve into more.
AOTY, by a mile.

dude why would you post artwork without the title of the band/name? Do you think everyone in here is going to automatically know what band/album that is? Dont be a pretentious faggot like onder.

@CiG easily one of the best black metal bands of the last 20 years. They've basically originated a sound that has influences dozens and dozens of black and death metal bands and has even leaked into other subgenres. By far one of the most impressive and talented black metal bands ever.
Probably Fas. But id definitely say start with Paracletus, which is another one of my favorites ...
Yeah, black metal is definitely one of my biggest blind-spots.
What's their best in your opinion?
