That album kinda disappointed me upon first listen, I might have to give it a spin sometime in the near future.

That album kinda disappointed me upon first listen, I might have to give it a spin sometime in the near future.

I liked it from first listen, but I am notoriously a sucker for catchy melo-death with core influences peppered throughout. But really, you cannot deny that some of the songs are just BEYOND catchy. Spin, For A Place In The Sun, Silent Treatment and the title track are fantastic. Plus it's moderately technical/weird/angular, which is cool and shows that they're thinking about the genre instead of just cloning At The Gates. Good band, I'm excited for what they'll do on the next one. TBH, the only track that sucks is the last one, which basically sounds like Pantera.

Yeah, I remember there being some sort of approach to the music that I couldn't exactly put my finger on (something in the structure/atmosphere), but it seemed to be unique to an extent, making them stand out from many other generic melo-death bands.
