The only place it divides the metal community in two parts is on the internet. They became the "cool to hate" band by a bunch of younger hipster pretenders, mainly ones who were introduced to the genre through black metal. I'm not a big fan of the album or band really but its where they found their true sound and stopped pretending to be something they weren't. Cowboys From Hell on the other hand is faaaar from being a classic and is mostly crap outside of 2-3 good songs.
