I bought an older home in 2008. Little did i know even with a home inspection lol.....

I had a couple of circuit breakers rust out.

Then i replaced those bad breakers and then shut off the master.

The master breaker would not come back on. House has no power.

Called an electrician. $125 for a visit.

Shop boss says, "that will be $2900 to replace the panel".

I was like thats great, I'm gonna give you a call after i get some other estimates.

I found a friend and the two of us did it for $200 and i paid him $100 for his time.

no electricity for over 24 hours and we managed fine.

Wow.....nice job dude, is there any greater feeling than a narrow escape from Unionised Butt Rape!

$2900!!! How many circuits in the panel?! Wow. what bullsh!t.

Contractors complained endlessly around here when all the work was going to immigrant (and some non-immigrating) workers. But the local contractors had started charging so much for their work no one could afford them anymore. They 'charged' themselves out of a job.

I hate the unions. I think the changes they brought about through occupational safety and labor laws were good but they oulived their usefulness.

Its no wonder why manufacturing has a tough time competing. I hear so many screwed up union tales.
