O/T Got A New Job`

new company, a much better company. not a corporate company. the owner is actually there and from what I've heard and seen, very cool to work for. my immediate boss is one I've had before, at my old job, and he was one of the coolest boss' I had. a friend of mine got offered the same job where we'd be working together with that boss directly. And my friend has worked with that boss too. the job itself is about a mile from home, and last job was around 20ish. probably just under. so, right there, I'm saving money in gas. plus we have real incentives. if we just show up to work on time, never late for like a month and a half (I forget exactly how many days in a row) we get a bonus. I mean, how hard is that? my base pay is less than what I make currently, but incentives push that up (plus no oregon income tax and the savings in gas) will also equal more than previous job. walked into work yesterday, cleaned up my stuff, went and looked for my manager (was in a meeting), so found our head hr guy. told him I was quiting yesterday, asked me where I was going, and he's leaving to work for the sister company, owned by the same guy (my interview was where he'll be working, my work will be downstairs of his, eventually, for right now it's next door) so he took care of my paper work for me. and he was one of the cooler employees of my last work. so it will be great to work with him again too.

So doesnt Wa have an income tax, or were you being taxed by both Or and Wa?

Ya know if you work in Detroit-but do not live there- they get about 1.5%, if you live there, whether you work there or not, they get about 2.5%. For that you get no street lights and slow response times for emergency vehicles. Oh! Almost forgot, some of the highest insurance rates in the country.

:yuk:

Huh?! How about that? We got 6% sales tax, Approx 5% income tax. No city tax where I live but I also pay $52 a month in union dues. I dont smoke, but MI has an exorbanant "sin" tax on smokes and alcohol(uh...I might drink a little  ). We have a high gas tax in Mi and the COLA is high here because of all the Former Big Three and thier wages. Car insurance is fucking outrageous- $2600 for two cars and a pop-up. And dont forget MI's wonderful seasons - winter and construction! OUR ROADS SUCK!

It took me five hours to get to the sand dunes by Mears last thursday due to the invasion of the orange barrel creatures.

In LA County w pay 8.5% Sales Tax and I think its 8% in Orange County (the OC). Are State income tax is mostly around 9.3% the last time I checked.
