Did anywone tried them? They are kind of really pricy, and I never heard about the software on this forum.

A friend of mine has them. I put the plugin through the paces with some MIDI from a top-end Roland V-Drum kit. I wasn't impressed with the tracking or the sounds, maybe these would be OK for programmed drums and pop/rock but really not my bag. Kind of "big" sounding drums in a hokey way IMO, ultimately pretty fake sounding to my ears.
Some of the issues I had were probably due to the Kontakt 2 Player engine that it uses. I have been having lots of problems with Slate 3.0 b/c the Kontakt 2 Player is buggy and inefficient. I installed the SSD 3.0 WAV version the other day after reaching the end of my rope with Kontakt 2 Player, and I'm building kits in Battery 3 instead, since Native Instruments has really optimized Battery for performance.
As for performance with the V-Drums, Addictive Drums and EZDrummer completely slay everything else I've tried in terms of accurately mirroring the techniques on the drum pads (although I haven't tried SSD 3.0 yet with V-Drums.)

Listening to their audio clips, the overall tone/sound of the drums are pretty good but it sounds like it lacks a good amount of samples for more realistic tracks? Just sounds like programmed drums to me. I still dig AD wayyy more, personally.

Isn't it, like, $1,500 bucks US or something astronomical like that (It comes preinstalled on it's own drive too iirc)? Get the Slate platinum pack and save yourself a few (!) bucks.

I feel ashamed that i never really tried the AD drums until a few months ago.. i think i prefer it over DFHS.

Actually AD is really nice, and super flexible. I've heard some nice sounds out of it, but it takes a TON of tweaking, doesn't it?

I think AD need a lot less tweaking than S2.0, but I don't know, in a lot of AD clips I heard the drums were sounding a LOT compressed.
I want to like AD but it seems like all the presests are way too compressed and the drums don't sound that fabulous without tons of eq'ing and compression..sounds to hyped up for my tin ears
Yeah, and it sounds to me like the toms and kick always have a snare blended in with them, like they have this weird snap I don't dig
