"One Day All This Could Be Yours," "Amputee," "Saturday Morning Breakfast Show," "Long Forgotten..." all just amazing.

Yeh i dig em. I love the way the mixed decent musicianship and experiemntation with catchy melodies and quality song writing. Have they started recording the follow up to 'Everyone into position' ?

I only have one disc of theirs and I like it quite a bit...

Any sources you have to get their earlier one?

Thanks...

I had never seen the genre "shoegaze" until a couple weeks ago and i think its my favorite genre name ever now. Its pretty much the most literal description of music except dance.

whats shoegaze? their genre is called "shoegaze"?

Download the 'Loveless' album by My Bloody Valentine, it's the shoegazers bible.

Also, I don't really like Oceansize. I find them to like a cheap imitation of a few genres and not doing anything remarkable in any of them, let alone at once.

it's called 'shoegazer' cause early bands of the style would take the stage and then spend an entire set not engaging with the audience at all, just staring down at their shoes.

I haven't heard Oceansize but Cocteau Twins have some terrific albums - my faves are Heaven or Las Vegas, Blue Bell Knoll and Victorialand. certainly not metal, but very atmospheric, ethereal and transportive, so you'll know if you like that sort of thing (most Opeth fans do, I'd assume).

Slowdive is another band worth looking into, I'd start with Souvlaki, the song Souvlaki Space Station is pretty great.
