In the above setup, I guess my questions is would you.....

A) Go guitar>od808>ns2>amp

or

B) Go guitar>ns2>od808>amp

Thanks for any help.

Well first off, the noise suppressor should be at the end of the signal chain, to suppress the inevitable noise from all that processing/bypassing (cuz I assume those Boss boxes aren't true bypass), and the tuner at the beginning, just for the sake of getting the cleanest tone to it. So basically, I'd put the tuner at the beginning, followed by the Maxon, and the NS at the end...I guess the rest in between is up to taste (but it's rack Multi FX in the loop all the way for me!)

I take it you never used a NS2 before?

The ns-2 has it's own effects loop.

loopout>loopin (following the red line, the tuner is 1st in chain)

Guitin>ampout (up until the maxon, guitar>ns2>amp)

So in "effect" <----pun intended....the NS 2 is at the beginning and the end of the signal chain.

If I decided to put the maxon in the effect chain, ide probably put it post (pitch, wah) and pre (chorus, flange), but i'm thinking about not and just using it for the direct guitar signal (so it's cleaner)

I play a 5150 so yes it has a post preamp effects loop. If I hook it up like that it becomes too much of a pain in arse to set up.

I would run the wah, pitch and OD in front of the amp...and the chorus, flanger in the effects loop. That's too much. I like it set up simple.

The things I DONT want...

The wah post gain
the pitch shift/harmony post gain
the OD post gain

so yeah I could run the mod effects post pre amp but then it just becomes a big hassle to set up. As it is all I do is plug the guitar in, the pedalboard to the amp, turn on and rock.

So let's forget about the effects chain and focus on my actual question that I probably should have made more clear in the first place. The od808.

guitar>ns2>od808>amp
or
guitar>od808>ns2>amp

The second, a guitar by itself is not gonna generate enough noise to make putting it before the Maxon worth anything

I sorta have the same dilema. I too have the 5150. It comes with a footswitch for channel and effects loop. What, I am doing is when switching from clean to dirty, I hit the channel AND the effects loop switch. I use chourus and delay in the loop, I don't need them for dirty. The problem I have is the fuckin 808. It's enough to dirty up my clean so, I have to hit the 2 footswitches with one foot and the 808 with the other, when changing back and forth! I'll just kick on the loop (delay/chourus) when I solo. I've been checking out ab boxes and I can't seem to get that 808 off/on when I need it with one move.:goggly: Anyone use this? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-LS2-Line-SelectorPower-Supply?sku=151369
