All About Gabby, our 11-yr old 3.5 lb apple-head Teacup Chihuahua:
some early photography with her Mommy Karen...
after a few hours at a local leash-free dog park...
Halloween...
Posing for Mommy at her in-home studio...
Christmas 2010; the outfit reads 'Elf Sized' on the back.
Gabby is now 'Aunt Gabby'... LOL, she may appear uninterested here but she's really fascinated by our grandbaby...
one of the frequent road trips Gabby makes with us...
We call her 'Go Go Gabby' because she's always
ready to go bye-bye. She loves to travel. We hate it that we can't take her with us often during the summer unless we are going somewhere pets are allowed. But during the early spring and fall months when the weather allows, she goes
everywhere with us.
She has other nicknames: Baby Girl, Boo-Boo, Gabs, among others. She is truly a part of this family and has been since we adopted her from a friend at a little less than a year old. She's a total ham as you can see from the pics above and she's a real flirt with the guys.
She's not a typical 'nervous
rat-on-acid Chihuahua'. She's not mean or vicious, and the only time she barks is when anyone knocks on the door or rings the doorbell (or otherwise surprises her). But that only lasts a couple minutes.
Gabby is smart as a whip and understands a fairly extensive vocabulary. She has certain mannerisms and 'speech' that she uses to tell us what she needs and wants.
Like many Chihuahuas Gabby has bad knees, so she's never been a jumper insofar as jumping 'up' onto furniture, etc. She'll leap off if it isn't too high though. Even at 11 years old she has good energy and still loves to run and play from time to time.
Gabby is spoiled rotten and has me & Karen trained quite well. But we love her and wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what we'll do when she passes someday. It was pure chance that she ended up with our family. And we believe she's irreplaceable.
