haha, I just borrowed the George Martin novels as well, haven't started reading them yet though... I'm too busy working through the Covert One series by Robert Ludlum...
You have them all? I can't find "The Cassandra Compact" or "The Paris Option" anywhere. There are serious geographical errors in "The Arctic Event" (I study atlases for the heck of it).

nah, I just borrowed 'em from the local library, had to reserve them, but they didn't take too long to become available... Which one is The Arctic Event? Is that a new one, I thought The Moscow Vector was the most recent one...

Looks like I'll be forced to go to the library then. I prefer to buy my books, then I can read them in my own time, over and over again. The Arctic Event was only released a couple of months ago.

I feel like death too, but it was a kickass evening so it's all good (aside from the one day delay in returning home cuz I was just too hungover to travel today..)..happy 2008, ya'll. :)

As in Moorcock Elric?

The same. I am getting into it because Skelator has a few songs based on moorcock's work (The Coming of Chaos is based on the Swords Trilogy and Corum, The Dark Tower is based on Elric... can't remember exactly whihc part but i haven't read it yet haha). They also want to write an epic about Elric, so i gotta learn the background info.

hmm, i had a brief look at moorcock, but well as we all know im a GRRM fangirl (and now starting to finally become a wolfe fangirl), so i havent given it a shot..
Same here. I looked at the name, giggled, then I read first few pages of "A Game of Thrones" and forgot other authors existed for a while. But then I couldn't avoid Wofle, because I talk to Ken.

My current reading repertoire:

Principles of Brewing Science by George Fix (RIP)
Brew Chem 101 by Lee Janson
The Ten-Day MBA by Steve Silbiger
The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell
How to Talk So People Listen by Sonya Hamlin
Radio Network Planning and Optimization for UMTS by Laiho, Wacker, and Novosad
Brew Like A Monk by Stan Hieronymous

I will work on my own epic when finished. I'm not sure of the marketability of such a work though. Perhaps it would work well in a sanitarium environment.
