Official RotK Thread

I was a little disappointed with the Saruman cop out, but apart from that it was the best of the lot. Jackson didn't turn it so much into an "adaptation" as he did in the other films, but the story was well established by now so I can see why he didn't feel the need for it. I was also a little disappointed about Gollum's death, but not in the same way as PainMiseryDeath was. Lava is really, really HOT! He should have exploded into flame before he reached it, not gently slipped under the stream with a disappointed look on his face. Jackson's attention to detail is legendary and I can't understand why he did this, plus with his background in gore he could have handled it a little bit differently.

I friggin' loved it. The whole trilogy is flat-out amazing. I'm even happier the extended edition DVDs give me even more than I paid for. I think it will be a long time before anything even touched these films. Yeah, PJ changed some stuff but it all worked out in the end.

I almost sapped out at the end of RotK but thankfully was able to hold it. I wept openly when I realized I won't have another one to see this December.

we were warned, though, ever since the first movie, Jackson said the scouring of the shire wouldnt be included...

what part of the book were you most eager to see on film? for me it was eowyn killing the nazgul, definitely. and denethor burning himself alive.
