the lo-pro edge II and III's have different arrangments on the location of some of the mechanisms, allowing for lower profiles (thus called the Lo-Pro). Some of the parts have improved too, such as better saddles, etc...I think they also got rid of the small string block locks too...

and the major difference is that Floyd Rose offers no service, support, or guarantee on them, because it was made with a license and not officially by the company. personally i think they improved the design, but if anything goes wrong, you have to talk to them, Floyd won't help you.

Well, theres a difference between an Origional Floyd Rose (OFR) and Licenced Floyd Rose (LFR). If its an origional, I do believe there is service and warranty.

The Edge type tremolos are LFR's, and have no real service eccept that which comes thru Ibanez.

I use a Licensed Floyd and I barely get any trouble with it.

Like if you have an Edge Pro II, can you still do high pitched harmonic squeals and stuff?

sure, cause that doesn't have much to do with the bridge

Not to be a jerk or anything but why wouldn't a high pitched harmonic squeal have anything to do with the bridge? I often raise up harmonics with my bridge... a "pinched" harmonic has to do with your technique in applying the right pressure and attack on a string to get it to raise up in pitch, even then you can still raise it up with your bar.

mine has 6. instead of cutting them off i simply string all the strings backwards so it has 6 dreadlocks with ball ends.

You should try to restring a Steinberger, those strings have TWO balls...
