Jesus Christ, I need some help. Is it just me, or is waiting for Damnation fucking torture????

I need some ways of coping with this shit, any ideas?

haha yeah.. if i was as talented as Mikael...

anyway what would people like to hear on Damnation?
personally i'd really love to hear heaps of old-school 70's metal band pieces - such as the mellotron, mini-moog, old school organs, old-school drum kits and such... and with Mikael at the fore.. who could resist?

I'm envisioning it as a mix between Nick Drake and Camel - moonmadness. If it's anywhere close to that type of a combination, it'll be godly.

dude, right on! Camel - Moonmadness is one of my all time fave albums.. what's Nick Drake like?

Good Point. I'm just contenting myself with listening to their old stuff over and over again...

I picture Damnation as being very spacey, mellow music with totally dark lyrics... so it's gonna be an awesome combination... mellow but EVIL! Like if Nick Drake was SATAN!

heh.

who told you i don't have a job??? :)

i am totally content with their old stuff... i'm just thinking about what will be on Damnation, whatever it happens to be.

personally i just wanna hear people's opinions!

IANDORK, i believe you got the 2 comparisons of Nick Drake and Camel-Moon Madness from an interview that is posted on www.antimtv.com on opeth.....if im not mistaking.....anyways, how is camel suppose to sound exactly....they say in the interview like elevator music

Im just slightly pissed off because back in October they said the release date was March 15 and ever since then i've been looking forward to that date... now it's what, April 22nd or first week of May? pushing back cd releases rarely makes me mad, I wasnt even looking forward to Deliverance... but for Damnation, i must hear it as soon as possible! without downloading anything first this time

Never read it. It's common knowledge, if you listen to drake and camel, that opeth has some similarities. Camel is 70's prog, a bit cheesy at times, but in the best possible way.

Almost. You're very, very close. "Ending Credits" is very Camel circa Moonmadness and Mirage. However, it's also very unique and not at all like most progressive music.
