Almost. You're very, very close. "Ending Credits" is very Camel circa Moonmadness and Mirage. However, it's also very unique and not at all like most progressive music.

PS. Expect a review in... just check the site in the next few days.

I'll add that the first song of the album is like a mix of King Crimson - Epitaph with Camel Circa Mirage but very unique like digitalmetal said.

I can't wait to read the review of digitalmetalcom.com

anyways, how is camel suppose to sound exactly....they say in the interview like elevator music
ELEVATOR MUSIC?!?

Far from it. I checked Camel out because of the Opeth influence and enjoyed their stuff very much. I absolutely wouldn't call it elevator music. If you like any kind of 70s rock or classic rock you'll probably be able to get into it. If you're a full-on Cannibal Corpse death metalhead and Opeth is as slow as you go, forget it. You'll hate it. ;)

EVEVATOR MUSIC?????

wtf... i'd like to know where that came from... and it's far from "cheesy"

camel are my fave band! \m/

and yeah COnsiderateApathy it's essential listening for 70's prog rock fans (pink floyd etc.)

and if you wanna see how it influenced Mikael.. download Camel - Never Let Go... then listen to benighted ;)

I think Damnation is going to be a phenomenal record. Mikael's voice, great rhythm section and great guitar playing will make for an excellent 70s vibe and feel for this album. I'm sure this album is going to be great! Can't wait!

I agree, every path Opeth has taken in the direction of their music with each release has been done well and with originality without losing that "akerfeldt ambience/style"...

I truly believe Damnation will be another gem of brilliance.

I thought I remembered seeing a post saying something about a wrinkled hand... perhaps that was just speculation.

The only thing that I'm concerned about regarding Damnation is the vocals...I want Mikael to do ALL of them, he's got a killer clean vocal style and I see no need to use Steven Wilson for any of them...well...maybe one...but he sang way too much on Deliverence I thought..nothing against Steven, I love Porcupine Tree..but I want my Mike singin' ......damnit!

I think Steven Wilson and Mikael sound great harmonizing. That's likely what they'll do, nothing with Steven singing on his own, at least not for an entire song.

What's wrong with Wilson? I think he complements Mikael really well... but let's not go overboard! The next album is by Opeth not Porcupine Tree.
