All the instruments sound extra heavy. Guitars are razor sharp, bass is punchy and present. Drums cut through with a heavy thud. Rick's multi layered vocals are a sure winner.
I'd say the album most resembles "Messiah" with a heavy "Dark Hallucinations" and "Goddess Principle" influence. Lot of fast speedy songs, tons of melody and a lot of moody, dark and proggy parts.
The solos were given particular focus; trying to make them very guitar hero like. I don't think there's a single flaw in the rhythm guitars and the drums meter is impeccable.
Now it's just to see if other people relate to the songs and production. Sure hope so!
