Opeth album sales

Wow. Then you're right, Opeth have in the vcinity of a million albums, probably.

Somehow I'm not surprised that Opeth have exceeded the million mark. Their music, to me, is an amazing blend. I understand that metal as a genre is a minority, but the perception of 'dark-cool' still persists with metal. And until that enigma fades you'll always have poseurs contributing to the album sales, merchandise, etc

Considering the length of time over which Opeth has sold albums, they probably have made very little money per member from album sales. Remember artist royalties on album sales are shocking, no matter if you are Opeth or U2. If Opeth are getting more than US$2-3 per sale, I would be surprised. No doubt, like all bands, they make most of their money from touring and merchandise. Of course, publishing rights add some money to the pot. I would guess that they make an OK living doing something they like.

The only way to know how mony copies they sold is to count them. So ill start:

I got 9 opeth cd and 2 dvds here lol. So right now the count is 9
