Opeth bus driver arrested for porn charges

what I don't understand:
- he is a convicted cocaine-dealer ... is this perhaps a plus for someone who is busdriver for rockbands??
- he told the girl to meet him there a year ago! how the hell did he know that he was going to drive the bus for Opeth and that Opeth was going to play in Tampa on that date???

things don't make sense ...
anyway, I don't see how this would affect Opeth ... they will be as chocked I guess. (perhaps they'll wonder if this is why he didn't join in when 26-year old groupies were on the bus? :p)

For what its worth 16 is legal in Australia... tho for a guy of his age its not really morally acceptable. The crazy people in the UK have their legal sex age of 14, which is just mental.

What was the old saying? 'if theres grass on the wicket, lets play cricket?'

Aaaanyways, I reckon the guys will have a bit of a laugh about it more than anything. The only way it'll affect their image is if people think a lousy bus driver is their porn dealer as well...

Yeah, I just read it. I know I'm a dumbass and started a new thread about it, I just didn't see the thread towards the bottom about it. I just think that the whole situation was coincidence, but people are stupid. When people hear, "Convicted cocaine trafficer and Opeth tour bus driver charged with soliciting sex with minors and possesing child pornography." They probably won't go through the nessacary thought process and go, "Wait a second, the bus driver works for a company in the US, while the band comes in from Sweden, there's no way they would have known." But, I'm sure that in a week or so it'll just blow over.

that's creepy.

people put a ton of blame on this dude, and rightly so... but......

WTF was she thinking? and WTF was her mother thinking letting her fly there?

What the hell kind of idiot 16 year old girl flies to Florida from Michigan to meet some shady bus driver? It was her own fault as much as his for being stupid.

I'm sorry, but having taught high school and been an advisor to 16 year old girls, I think it's fair to say that, at times, being a teenage girl (or boy, for that matter) is indistinguishable from being insane. No offense to the often articulate teenagers on this board, but in my experience, the hormones preclude rational thought.

What are they gonna do, take responsibility for it? I mean, the tour is finished, the band is back in Sweden right now. I really don't see how this affects them at all.

No no, why would they take responsibility? They just hired the guy to drive them all over, and they paid his bills... Got him driving all over the US with a computer full of porn and a camera, and victoms accross the US... naw its not their problem. I mean its not like they drove around the US with this guy, its not like they didn't give him a background check.

:erk:

What next, they should hire a serial murderor and drive around the U.S.... sweet...

then, in my opinion, we need to re-examine the way our society educates itself. 200 years ago, people of that age were ruling nations.
