I can see some of your points there.

One thing I'd like to point out though, is that in regards to quality, the recent London gig was almost like listening to the albums. It was fantastic.

But yeah, I do know what you mean. I don't buy many Live albums.. only when I think they'd be really worth it. If I could get a chance to listen to the recent London gig again I'd take it!

A live DVD can be almost as good as being there. The Emperor-Emperial Live Ceremony DVD is fantastic! I have enjoyed "just sitting on my couch" and watching this amazing show through my surround sound many times. I would LOVE a live Opeth dvd. (As well as live DVD's by Nevermore, Dark Tranqillity, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, ect). I also have a few live Laserdiscs of Rush from a while ago, those also rock.
As far as a live cd goes, I'm sure I would buy it, but I usually prefer studio cds to live cds.
