I've never had the chance to see opeth live and I was wondering how they play the acoustic part live ?
Do they use acoustic guitars or just the clean tone of their electric guitars ?
thanx !

:D

ofcourse they use clean electric. :p
They play most part with fingers.

Maybe they should get those stands which actually attach to yr acoustic so you can just walk up to the thing and play (whilst yr electric dangles around yr neck)

Don't know why you think it's a stupid question ....
they could use acoustic guitar ......

 :( :(

It would sound so much better, if they would use acoustic guitars live. A lot of musicians use acoustics with stands, so they don't have to let go the electric guitar and they can switch from acoustic to electric very quick. Some names that come to my mind are Yngwie Malmsteen and Dream Theater, altough last time I saw DT, John did use electric guitar with piazzo mic and sounded pretty good. I have one guitar with piazzo and the sound is good, but nothing beats real acoustic. Well, I use 7-string-gtrs and haven't found any 7-string acoustics yet...
