Opeth show in Edmonton DELAYED!!

I drove to the venue tonight and there were signs posted on the door saying that due to reasons beyond their control, Opeth was unable to get here tonight, and the show will be rescheduled for Thursday, Jan 22. Apparently Moonspell and Devil Driver are still playing tonight, and will be playing again with Opeth on Thursday.

So I called the venue and asked what was going on, and they told me that one of the band members is sick, so they decided to postpone the show. The 22 of January is empty on their tour, so that's not a problem, but unless whoever it is that's sick gets better soon, the entire tour is going to be thrown off, or at least some shows are going to get cancelled... I have my doubts that they'll even be here on thursday.. I mean, if your'e sick, you're sick! :erk:
 
Maybe some Calgary fans can let us know what happens tomorrow.. cause man, I'd hate for them to cancel the show.. they've never even been here before!!
 
They said that if they couldn't show on Thursday, there'd be refunds.. but who the hell cares?? I'd pay double what I paid to see em... I don't want a refund, I want a SHOW!!

I'll post something tomorrow morning because I'm going to the Calgary show. I'm going to phone Macewan Hall tomorrow morning and find out...*gulp*...*fear*

Opeth is usually pretty good about it though.. Mike has said that he hates to cancel gigs, so hopefully if something is wrong they'll just reschedule...
 
I was at Red's and both the the girl selling shirts and one of the guys at the door said that it was due to a flight delay...

A girl at the door said that half of the band was there(she didn't know who - just said that the guitarist was there - im assuming Peter). There was also a sign that said that although they wouldn't be playing, they'd be signing autographs. The dude at the door said that even Calgary was a maybe but they'd know tonight after the show.

I'm gonna go back over in a few hours and see if i can find out what's up.

This is awful awful news - i have tickets to both shows and i sure hope that it was due to a flight delay.

Time to go and pray...
 
Yeah I know... I thought they would've posted it Opeth.com right away. I figured that maybe since there's an open slot on the 22nd, they're just trying to cover it up and keep going.
