Opeth far more accomplished but they have reached much higher musical expression than Esoteric could.
You mean, more accomplished as in more popular? Higher musical expression? What are you talking about?

Opeth have accomplished more, as in they have more albums out and they have acheived more progression and they have impacted more people and their music has more variety of emotions, the have a wider range of dynamics in their music...You mean, more accomplished as in more popular? Let's take your answers one by one:Opeth have accomplished more, as in they have more albums out and they have acheived more progression and they have impacted more people and their music has more variety of emotions, the have a wider range of dynamics in their music...
i really hope you guys don't think esoteric is more worthy of a listen than opeth. seriously, if you listen to one of their albums for more than once a week or two weeks, you get tired of it. and that really isn't a good thing. i am not listening to opeth as much as i used to in the past, but i enjoy it a whole lot more when i do put it on and want to listen to a song like blackwater park or when again after i hear it once. that never happened to me with esoteric.
2) More progression = more accomplished
Would you say that Green Carnation is more accomplished than Iron Maiden? I wouldn't.
see here is the problem: all this stuff applies to YOU. we are very different than you, so we have our own preferences. jesus fucking christ, is this kindergarten?
haha "i hope you don't like esoteric better than opeth because i get bored of one more than the other so everyone else must too!"
.the point is that no matter how much you want to think that your tastes are better than everyone elses, nothing changes, and you're still wrong

My solo black metal project "Orgies Including Goats" is more accomplished than The Beatles for example in that I have vastly more body hair than they do/did.
