I found out that this is what happens if you mix progressive Swedish metal with up-and-coming UK hip hop talent.
Lowkey is like 19, roughly the same age as myself, and is easily one of the best emcees in Britain, if not the world.

Anyway, listen to this tune.

There is especially when a majority of hip-hop is durogetery to women and black people. something i simply cant stand for, along with pointless swearing and a beat that loops its self 100 times over. Hip-hop is everything Opeth isnt.

Actually I'm not (but I'm guessing I'm in the minority here). I don't think there is anything wrong with liking hiphop and Opeth. But to mix them is just weird. For me MAYH and Still Life have a lot of emotional value and I'd count those albums among some of the most beautiful music that I own. So to hear that "remixed" with a hiphop beat underneath just sounds horribly wrong to me. It just sounds tacky.

fair enough... opinion respected...
i feel that way about some tunes as well... would just sound weird and wrong if someone messed it up in anyway...

also true to an extent... the key word being a "MAJORITY" of hiphop is derogatory to women and black people.
some however, is not... lowkey isnt... most of the hip hop i listen to myself isnt... its all about exquisite wordplay and flow... therefore the beat also isnt the most important thing...
 
But theres lots of music that does that without having the 'style' hip-hop does. Therefore i will not take the time to listen to the minority when i dont know what the minority is and seeing as the majority is what alot of people follow i wont listen to that either. I have my reasons. And i do belive that Mikes first song was called 'I hate Hip-Hop' and he certantly isnt narrow-minded about music.

glad to hear you actually have opinions that you're willing to back up rather than most people who just say "it's all shit" or something like that...

anyway, i know there's good hip hop out there... obviously isn't your thing...

That is also fair rather than an all guns blazing situation which usually happens in this forum. It seems us brits do not like to shout at each other as much as (some) Americans. Just seems like alot of flaming going on when all it is, is an opinon anyway. Fair play to you.
 
There is some (german) Hip Hop that is not AS bad as the rest. You can notice that they have some musical abilitys but as usual the weakest guys get the most money and attention.
I'm not one of those who just say, that every Rap is Crap but most of the MC's simply have no idea of making music...

P.S.: The remix is really funny...;)

Well I'm not gonna come here without posting before and say "OMFG this is the bestestest rmx EVEEEEEER!!!!11!1!!" coz I know no-one would listen to it...

And yeah, I'm not American, I'm a Londoner... And I'd have to say most mysoginistic hip hop comes from across the pond.
UK hip hop doesn't have the greatest reputation but it doesn't all chat about guns, bitches, murder and diamonds. So if you were to ever decide you feel the need to listen to some hip hop, go for something British... I personally suggest Jehst. :Spin:
