To be honest, I don't like to call them progressive death metal. Sure it can be defined as that best, but I just like to refer to it as "Opeth". They're a genre of their own if you ask me.

Hmmm .. I guess being concidered an Opethian band is a compliment .. we weren't a copy like fuckin April Ethereal or anything just greatly influenced I suppose....... Farmakon is tied together by the threads of Opeth .. but I think they also kick some major ass and have a lot of things Opeth don't have (nor need)

Opeth have influenced a new and better genre of music...it's still metal but it has much more color than before ....if bands keep doing this but find ways to not copy Opeth but use it to expand there own style I think we shall have some great new talent ...

This thread was mainly reffering to the direction the new album took in terms of heavyness, in particular Master's Apprentices, so I figured now the 'Progressive Death' tag has a bit more weight.
