Osama bin laden dead

I'm just going to copy and paste a post I made in RC:

Think about this. Even ignoring how difficult it would be for him to survive the past 10 years as most of his inner circle gets killed off, it would be really really dumb for the US government to lie and say he was dead. It would be very easy for Osama to go "Uuuh, no I'm very much alive", and that would make the USA look like a bunch of lying retards (which would be great for Osama). It would be beyond nonsensical for them to do that. Our government may not be transparent, but they're also not stupid.

You can dispute whether or not he died recently, but to believe he's still alive is just silly.

I'll concede on that issue. However, how recently he may have died and who killed him has yet to be proven.

That "birth certificate" is hardly proof of where he was born and raises more questions that it answers. Like, why the fuck did it take so long and why is Terry Lakin still sitting in prison for questioning this issue when Obama could have settled the issue then? I'd hate to be called a birther here, but any critical thinking skills would cause anyone to question his past. For example, why did his legal team spend 2 million dollars to block the release of these documents? I wouldn't say he is foreign born necessarily (he may be), but he is hiding something. All presidents in the past have released their health, school and birth records without a big fight. Obama refuses to release his education and health records, probably out of embarrassment of his past as a drug user and smoker and that he was admitted to Colombia and Harvard as a result of hand-outs and affirmative action. Who becomes editor of Harvard Law Review and never writes anything? Obama does, because he's too stupid to have an original thought.

Regarding the Osama issue, like I said before, pics or it didn't happen. Seems to awfully convenient that we kill Osama as Obama slips in the approval polls. Don't forget, he is in campaign mode (not that he was ever out of campaign mode. that's all he knows how to do), so polls are everything. I won't believe Osama is dead til we see photos and other sources for confirmation. :hotjump:

Elaborate, please. :D

The debate about whether he was born in the U.S or not is derived not from any genuine concern about whether he's fit to lead the nation but from petty, partisan politics. It's all a load of bollocks, a smokescreen and distraction from more pressing and real problems. Not that I'd especially expect anything else from a group of people so singularly misguided that it's embarrassing.

Focusing on it for a mere second, though, his birth certificate has been released and verified by everyone who would really be in a position to do so. A refusal to accept evidence counter to a previously held belief is called IRRATIONAL THINKING and seems to be endemic amongst so-called "birthers". To be frank, I'm ashamed that people continue to think this way. The only way we will EVER live together in peace and for the betterment of all is when we realise that beliefs have to have a foundation, you can't start with the belief and then just accept whatever foundations support it.

I think it's fair to say that Bid Laden is almost certainly dead. The embarrassment that would be caused if it wasn't the case would bring down the presidency, the risk wouldn't be worth it. I'd sincerely doubt the premise that it could help his re-election campaign, too.

Well, how do you explain the fact that it took years to get the birth certificate out. If it was such a huge distraction from the "real" issues, why didn't Obama release it in the first place? Why did he spend so much money blocking the release of the documents? These are the questions we should be addressing.

Doesn't make much of a difference, I don't think. What's going on is not just a War on Terror(ism), but it's a clash of civilisations and all the incredibly complex problems that entails. There is no victory here, it's simply endless war. Frame it as you like, but there is no solution or reason here, it's just another phase of our desire to destroy our fellow man for whatever it is he has that we don't or whatever it is we have they we don't want him to have.

Seriously, though, I couldn't agree more.

That's the thing. No one knows the answers to why he spent so much money blocking the release of his documents and why he let the birth certificate remain an issue for so long. All I know, is that he is hiding something. What? I don't know. If anyone else knows, please enlighten me.

Seems fairly obvious to me. He didn't want to lend credence to absurd claims founded in nothing more than quasi-racism and Fox News-fed political nonsense. I'm a little disappointed he buckled, actually.

edit: Perhaps credence is the wrong word. Validity would be more appropriate.

... c'mon, you can do better than throwin' the quasi-race card out. That's essentially what any argument in support of Obama will boil down too. "It's Fox News' fault and you're racist."

Fucking THIS.

Imagine how awesome it would've been to say, "You cast doubt on my eligibility to be President, have attacked me and even labeled me a communist. Well, I just found Osama Bin Laden and had my SEAL Team Six put a fucking bullet in his skull. Suck my big, black dick, Republicans." Imagine how much MORE awesome it would've been had he not proven his citizenship. So, theoretically, according to the Republitards, a Kenyan in the White House just found and killed the most wanted man in American history, while it took a good ole boy from Texas 10 years and still failed.

LOL

LOL

LA LA LA LA LA LOL

There is no reason to believe anything Obama says about his past is true. No president has been more secretive about his past nor spent as much money to cover it up. Why is it that he has to keep his birth certificate, grades and health records secret when all other presidents and some candidates released their records? What is the point? Why spend so much money?

There's plenty of reason to believe that he is hiding something, whether it be his birth place or poor academic performance.
