well they're pretty much what was expected. i hoped the dark knight might get in there ahead of a kate winslet holocaust movie but there you go.

compared to last year the selections are generally fucking awful

I gotta feeling, just based on commercials and pre-views, that MILK and Benjamin Button will get alot of praise. Therefore alot of awards.

i think ben button is the third most nominated movie of all time after titanic and all about eve, so yeah. by the way, it sucks. not as much as slumdog though, which is the favourite for best picture unfortunately.

actually my favourite critics seem to be grudgingly backing ben button, which is kind of depressing haha.

I had a feeling it sucked. I haven't seen it yet. Brad Pitt usually plays roles I can enjoy, but this one just doesn't seem like it's going to appeal to me.

i dunno if you say the curious case of forrest gump before they made youtube delete it, but it pretty much summed things up. it was nice to look at at least, had a few good moments.

out of the list, Benjamin Button was the worst. In a way, I hated that movie. the short story was stretched far to long.

my contender would be The REader. Fucking good movie tbh. Good acting etc.
