OT Hey Rifkin......

Shaye,
WHat in the hell has happened to the Falcons yet again in the 2nd half of the season? This is 2 years in a row where the team has gone to the shitter during the 2nd part of the schedule. Does Mora need to go?

The Falcons need a coach and they really need to get rid of Vick as he is really not much of a passer and that hurts them.

The Giants are the Giants and will always be until they find just the right fit at HC, Tommy just isn't doing it and naming Gilbride as the play caller this week is a demonstration of his total lapse in sanity.....The Saints meanwhile are not as good as their record and likely will not go far in the playoffs.

HOCKEY!!!!....GOTTA LOVE TED NOLAN!!!!!!....am loving watching all the nahsayers eat crow.....ok, it's early yet but I believe the Islanders have finally found the right HC and certainly have the right start toward finally being a legit contending team for the cup.

Vick may not be much of a passer, but how would anyone know?? His damn receivers can't hold onto the damn ball even when thrown perfectly to them by Vick. All the blame for a poor passing game is not VICK's fault...it mostly lies with the piss poor receivers the team has.

The whole NFC (except maybe for the Saints) is awful!!!

I don't buy the Bears. (The fact that I'm a Packers fan may have something to do with it.) Heck, the Pack has had a terrible season and still have a shot at the playoffs!

For Super Bowl XLI, can anybody spell C-H-A-R-G-E-R-S???

San Diego Chargers :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:

Lek, you dissapoint me!!!!! It's destiny I tell you!!!!!! A better story for the NFL, or the city of N.O. couldn't have been scripted.

The Bears DO NOT impress me. And they are the only team capable of beating the Saints right now IMO. I'm biased, but I have been waiting a LONG time for this :)

And Shaye, I know you were kidding hun :) But we still beat ya twice :)

Shane

heh, my backup team is the Colts (when there's no point in rooting for the Lions or the Browns, which is most of the time), and they're getting their asses kicked too. :)

Hmmm. Peerless Price came to Atlanta after a 94 reception 1252 yard year at Buffalo. His first year in Atlanta his stats dropped by 1/3. In his second year they dropped to 50%. I can't begin to count the balls Finneran couldn't hold on to. Jenkins, Lelie, and White are all 1st round draft picks because they do what? Catch footballs well!

In 2 years at Denver Lelie had 54rec/1084yd and 42rec/770yd seasons. In his 1st year in Atlanta he is the Falcon's leading receiver with a whopping 28rec/430yd season. I have to ask... what is the common denominator between all these impressive receivers who come to Atlanta and suddenly can't catch footballs anymore?

It's said that Dan Marino could, and Brett Favre can, throw a rocket that lands in the receivers' hands like a butterfly on a leaf. Those guys have Touch. If Vick would learn some touch, maybe the Falcon's would win at least win the games they're supposed to win.

As for Mora, the day he was announced I asked, "Why are we getting the defensive coordinator from a team with no defense for a head coach?" I've never received a satisfactory answer.

Mag...dammit you are gonna get me started on my Falcons & l was trying not to go there LOL. This is the worst core of recievers l've seen on a team in a long time. Hell these guys won't even finish routes let alone catch the freakin' ball! Pearless was the same. They get the contracts they want then lay down. Pathetic! As far as the touch issue goes...l think Jerry Rice said it best when he said that there is no such thing as a quarterback that throws too hard. He knows something about catching a football. Vick does have decision making issues...which was evident in the Dallas game when he never saw Dunn open for the dump offs. But, that may be coaching...which is again...Pathetic! But, l believe all the issues can be traced back to 1 source...McKay. He's the one that doesn't have touch anymore. He has lost it! :goggly:
Ok...l'll get back to my 12 step anger management program now :Saint:

Price and Lelie came from teams with other good receivers who pulled coverage. Atlanta's never had that.

The young guys caught footballs well in college. How many busts would I need to name to prove that college ball and the NFL are two entirely different critters, and succsess in one does not necessarily equal success in the other?

And Favre has had how many receivers break fingers?

Vick has his issues he needs to work on (decision-making for one). He's shown he can pass the ball if he has protection and receivers that hold on. He does NOT need to be fashioned into Peyton Manning. It will not work and it would be a sad waste of a unique talent. We need a better offensive coordinator, for the receivers and the QB to be on the same page, and an offensive line that can give Vick the time he needs.

As for Mora, the day he was announced I asked, "Why are we getting the defensive coordinator from a team with no defense for a head coach?" I've never received a satisfactory answer.

I don't think the problem is Mora. Then again, I think Alabama made a mistake getting rid of Shula, too. I say give Mora another year, and replace Greg Knapp.

Making Michael Vick try to beat you with his arm is a sure way to beat the Falcons. He's a running back playing quarterback. He doesn't have the decision making and other intangibles of a good passing QB. That's the same reason why I prefer Jeff Garcia to Donovan McNabb on my Eagles. Garcia does his 3,5,7 step drops and the ball is out quickly. No farting around and happy feet like McNabb. I'd love to see the Eagles sign Garcia as a starter for the next two years, trade McNabb, and draft a young QB. The Eagles will NEVER WIN A SUPER BOWL WITH McNABB! And, I've been a fan of the Eagles all of my 38 years.

bullshit!!!!!!!!!

How can the Eagles be expected to win without Donovan McNabb's mom shoveling Chunky Soup down their throats? Unless Jeff Garcia's mom is feeding them steroids.
