so im working with this band...
the overheads they recorded seems to ring like a fuck...
its so fucking annoying that i cant even listen it for even 5 mins...
i used eq to bring those super annoying frequency down... and used hi compression still it sounds bad and shitty so i was thinking is there any way i can replace those cymble with the samples i own? i use drumagog 5 for trigger
well it wouldnt work i know because there are toms snare and many more...
is there any way i can make those dissapear from the OH's.. i used Hp
than again the trigger machine cant detect anything... and its hitting low on those snare... overall the thing is the cymbles sucks really bad
because of bad mic placement or those are cheap cymbles not meant for studio works..

The most effect way is probably using midi to replace the overheads. Annoying, but I don't think you will have much luck with getting the audio to trigger cymbal hits, the transients just aren't there.

I wouldn't compress if they are ringy - this will only bring more sustain and ringiness to the sound...try to filter really extreme so there's only a high sizzle left and have the OHs really low in the mix. If you've got Hi Hat and Ride Mics this will work - if not - have fun!
